Constructive design of the Kaplan vertical hydraulic micro turbine, showing the main subassemblies:
Runner - consisting of a hub where four stainless steel blades are fitted. The runner hub is located on the conical end of the shaft by threaded joint; closing of the hub is performed by means of the runner cap.
Wicket gate - with adjustable stainless steel guide vanes, driven by a manual or electromechanical gear. The blade trunnions' bearings are self-lubricated.
Spiral case - in welded construction of carbon steel plate, forming one piece with the stay ring; it is provided with an access hole for cleaning
Draft tube - in welded construction of carbon steel plate, performed of components joined by flanges.
Bearing and shaft sealing - forming one piece. The bearing is of ball-bearing type, the sealing is of stuffing box type.
Coupling with the generator is performed by screw coupling.
